What is it All About ?
Subramaniam (Prakash Raj) is a middle class father who works day and night to save money , so that his son Karthik (Aakash) can study MBA. But Prakash Raj’s son is not interested in studies and his real passion is cricket and what follows next has to be seen. On the other side, the movie also deals with pressure that children undergo these days in schools.
The role of a middle class father is a tailor made character for Prakash Raj. He delivered his best performance. Puri Jagannath son Aakash is good in the role of Karthik where he is seen as struggling kid who is not interested in Cricket more than studies. Radhika Apte performed well as Karthik’s mother.
Tanikella Bharani and Brahmanandham are okay
This is Prakash Raj’s second directorial movie. He earlier directed ‘Naanu Nanna Kanasu’ in Kannada. He chose an excellent subject for which every parent will identify. The movie diverts from the talk show scene. He should have taken care of the screen play in the second half. His direction is good in parts.
Music Maestro Ilayaraja’s songs are good. The back ground score in several scenes is simply awesome and heart touching. KV Guhan’s Cinematography is Good. Kishore’s Editing should have been better
Dhoni is heart touching movie made with a honest intent. The best part of it is people will identify themselves with the movie. It is definitely a one time watch. The commercial success has to be seen as the movie does not have the masala people opts these days.
