What is Something Something About ?

Kumar (Siddharth), a software engineer receive several setbacks in love since his childhood and maintains distance from love and woman. Then enters Sanjana (Hansika) the office and Kumar falls for her instantly. When Kumar struggles to propose her, George (Ganesh Venkatraman) enters who also tries to win Sanjana’s heart. And then Kumar approaches Prem Ji (Brahmi) to help him out. And the rest of the story is all about who wins Sanjana’s heart and how.

How they performed?:

The character of Kumar is a tailor made one for Siddharth and he performed effortlessly. Hansika looked bubbly and will lure masses. But just like in O My Friend, the chemistry between Siddharth and Hansika did not work out well. Brahmanandham is an asset to the movie. Ganesh Venkat Raman makes a comeback after Damarukam and he is okay. Rest of them all performed okay.

Technical Performances:

It is one of the performance by the director which you can not call it good or bad. The direction just progressed that way all through out the movie. But he managed to deliver good screenplay which is essential for that movie which solely depends on entertainment. As already said, the story offers nothing novel. The director took good care of Brahmi’s character in the movie and it worked out very well.

Sathya’s music is okay with two songs being good. They all are very normally pictured. Gopi Amarnath’s cinematography is okay with out any technique. Editing is just about average. Veligonda Srinivas writing is good.

Final Say:

Something Something offers nothing for you in case you are looking something novel or innovate. It is just that kind of the movie which just moves on comedy, comedy, comedy. Watch it if you have nothing to do this weekend. Off course with No expectations

What is Prema Katha Chitram all about ?

It is a thriller film nicely blended with comedy, romance and horror. Three youngsters Sudheer (Sudheer Babu), Praveen (Praveen) and Nandhu (Nandhita), who are unhappy with their lives decides to commit suicide. They plan to spend their last minutes of their lives in a remotely located farm house. Giri (Giri) also joins them on their way to farm house. But, things start changing as Sudher and Nandhu develops love between them. Some odd things start taking place as the nights blankets the house with darkness. They realize the farm house has some dark secrets and their curiosity encourage them to investigate it. But, Sudher differs with the others as he understood their motives. What happens to the youngsters? What are their motives? What happens in the farm house that night? is crux of the story.

Performances:

Sudher Babu and Nandhita have excelled their roles with their amazing performance. Both of they have given exact dose of performance as and when required. Both of they need patting for their performance. Pravin sprinkles hilarious comedy all over the film with his Godavari slang. There is ‘Draupadi Vastrapaharanam’ scene that makes the audiences burst with laughter. It is a fine example for the director and artists abilities. Giri’s interaction scenes with ‘supernatural force’ also stand testimony for their skills. Praveen also did a good job but needs a bit polishing work.

Positives in Prema Katha Chitram :

Normally films like this solely depends on Camera work, Back ground Music and performance of the artists. This film has all these things to its perfection. So, need not to say it completely absorbs the audiences into it. The crispy editing gives silver lining to the film. Yet, few scenes like MLA scene, climax fight etc can be scrapped. Overall, the technical team did a very good job in the film. The second half takes the audiences by storm and won’t leave a chance to think about any thing else until the climax fighting scene.

Minus points:

There are Maruthi mark vulgar dialogues in this film too, but can be overlooked as the rest of the things nicely balanced in the film. The first half of the film is comparatively slow and needs some cuts by the editing department.

Verdict: Very nice movie.

Pavitra Movie Review

It is quite unusually to see Tollywood hot girl Shriya Saran returning with a heroine oriented film ‘Pavitra,’ rather than coming with a big hero to ensure success. However, she is quite successfully handled the film. the writer turned director Janardhan Maharshi, who took an odd story has nicely managed it without falling in confusion.

What is pavitra All About ? 

Pavithra (Shirya) in an unfortunate situation becomes a prostitute. She absorbed into that profession for the sake of her trust that extends help in bailing out those poor girls struck in the profession. Shiva (Shivaji) is a professional photographer. He lures the innocent girls, indulge in sexual acts and then blackmails them for money. Pavitra rescues an innocent girl, who fall prey to (Shivaji) and retrieves money from Shivaji. She also rescues other girls, who were blackmailed by him and succeeds in sending Shiva to jail.

Abhi (Kaushik) fall in love with Pavitra. His father a greedy MLA (Sai Kumar) nods for their marriage but plans to kill them to gain some political advantage. How Pavitra foils his conspiracy and get elected to the assembly forms rest of the story.

Artists Performances :

Shriya did a splendid job in this film. She shows a great ease in doing prostitute role and completely justified her role in the film. She has been projected from a totally different angle in this film. She looks terrific in her modern attire as well as in the sari. Shivaji, who played a negative role has delivered his best in the movie. Sai Kumar also did a good job. Brahmanandam and Ravi Babu’s talents left untapped in this movie. Tanikella Bharani, Yandamuri up to their mark but has no significance in the film.

Technical Aspects:

Though, the director Janardhan Maharshi took an unusual story for a come back after his ‘Devasthanam’ movie, he made it to near perfection. He narrates the story in a simple and effective manner without getting confused at any point. Since he is basically a story writer, he penned very crispy dialogues. Whatever the minor flaws seen in the film were well managed with gripping screen play. However, some more work in editing room would have made the film more crispy. Music by Sri Lekha is apt and enhance the mood of the story.

Final word:

When, it was declared that Tollywood hot girl Shriya is doing prostitute role in this movie, the general belief of the pubic is that it is decorated with her hot skin shows and some vulgar content. But, surprisingly Janardhan Maharshi has made it in a quite decent style instead of trying to tap the sexual and vulgar angle of the story. However, the film makers ignorance to campaign about this point may keep the general audiences, especially family audiences keep away from the movie.

Story:

Story begins with Catherine Tresa named as Akanksha daughter of Union Minister Rao Ramesh who files to spain to do her Phd in psychology. In her room she finds a diary left behind by previous tenant. Akanksha who reads the diary comes to know about allu arjun who is lead guitarist of a band in Spain. The diary belongs to Komali Sankarabharanam (Amala Paul) and it chronicles the warm love story between Komali and Sanju. She suddenly finds the story between Komali and Sanju come to abrupt end as the diary pages turn blank after the engagement between the two.

What is the twist? Why the dairy top abruptly? Rest of the story on screens

It’s a strictly A Class center movie, Allu Arjun carried the entire movie on his shoulders, He improved a lot in the sense of acting. The movie fate and box office report depends on how people received this movie

Technicals
Cinematography is of high standard. Devi Sri Prasad’s music is a treat for masses which enabled Allu Arjun to showcase his stylish dancing steps. Editing could have been far better. Production values are pretty high

Final Say :
Over expectation on Puri’s directions makes audiences bit disappointment in this time. This is one time watcher film.

Story:

The story is almost resembles with Nagarjuna’s latest released film ‘Greeku Veerudu’ Hero Sukumar (Aadi son of dailogue king Sai Kumar) is a self centered and greedy for money. He comes to India to grab Rs.150 crore dump waiting for him in a remote village with her grand mother Vandanamma (Sarada), with which he wants to start his dream project. There, in the village he fall in love with Sankari (Nisha Agarwal). In an attempt to pick up the money from her grand mother, he plays all his usual tricks but invain. His uncle Rao Ramesh and others makes him realize his family history, when he tries to emmotionally black mail his grand mother. Whether he will be able return with the dump or fall in line with her grand mother and heroine forms rest of the story.

Plus Points:
Superstar Krishna, Sarada and Rao Ramesh’s performance.
Ruben’s Music.

Minus Points :
Poor Screenplay, narration.
Director Ashok was unable to maintain a study flow of the story and sequences.
Horrible comedy scenes.

Technical: Poor editing, camera work and loud back ground music makes the film worse.

Analysis :

Director Ashok has actually has more than one story to narrate in this film, which plays spoilsport for the film. Would he clings to only one point of highlighting his hero’s greediness and reformation, the film would have looked much better than the present. But, he has tried all his cards to ensure success for the film. He highlights hero’s greediness and self center attitude. Then he tried to project him as a savior of the village which is not logical. Then tries father-son, grand mother-grandson sentiment. Also checks with a romantic saga between the lead pair. Tried to project village sentiments and traditions. Roped in several comedians as if to further ensure success of his film. The poor chemistry between the lead pair makes the audiences lost confidence in their romantic saga. At the same time, the unbearable emotional scenes between hero and his family also tests the patience of the audiences. Ultimately, all these things remain not connected with audiences makes them feel trapped in theater for 3 hours.

Final Word: Should also watch Nag’s Greeku Veerudu to know the huge difference between the two films.

Story:

Siva Rama Krishna (Sunil) is a timid guy and his younger brother Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) is a jobless youth,. After the death of their father, a police officer, the elder brother gets his job. Being timid, Sunil does nott dare to fight with the criminals and this tasks will be fulfilled by his brother secretly. Later, they encounter a gang lead by Kasi and Bagaa (Ashutosh Rana batch) and which results in revealing their secret. And the rest of the story deals with how these brothers clear this mess.

Performances:

Naga Chaitanya improved a lot as an actor. He has put in decent efforts in action sequences this time and is on his way to attract masses. Sunil gets a superb role. He is able to demonstrate his strength, comedy in the first half and the second half is an exhibition of his recently found mass image. Tamannah is damn gorgeous. The director made full use of her oomph in the songs especially the beach song and Subanallah song.

Brahmi is not up to the mark. Rama Prabha, Jaya Prakash Reddy managed some laughs. Srinivas Reddy is at his usual self and Vennela Kishore is wasted. Naga Babu comes in a trivial role as heroes’ father who dies immediately after the movie opens.

Technical Performances:

Dolly had to wait more than 4 years to wield megaphone for the second movie of his career. The urge to bag a hit is evident in the film. The way he focused on elevating the heroes in the movie is the heart of the film and is one of the main reasons for the movie success. If he had taken a bit of extra care in the screenplay, it would have worked wonders on screen.

The songs are not up to Thaman’s range. The director depended more on the glam of Tamannah to make them appealing. She is damn hot especially in Mara o Mara and Subhanallah songs. The back ground score is very good in some places especially in the hero elevation scenes of second half. Arthu. A. Wilson’s Cinematography is okay with not much of technique involved. Senior Editor Goutham Raju’s scissor should have been more sharper. Ram – Lakshman had composed some excellent fights which are nothing less than highlight for the movie.

Final Say:

The first half of the movie is good with some good comedy and the interval bag is interesting. The pace of the movie dipped significantly in the second half and it further dipped in the pre climax sequences. The climax is predictable as well. But the movie will go well with the masses given some worked out action sequences and hero elevation scenes. Finally, Thadaka is a decent hit this summer!

What is Greekuveerudu Story:

Chandu (Nagarjuna) is a playboy who runs an Event Management company in US. He is a kind of man who does not believe in relationships or sentiments. Maaya (Meera Chopra) is his assistant who deceives him in an event. As a result, Chandu runs in to deep financial crisis and had to pay hefty compensation to the client. Every one discards him at the need of hour and at the same time, opurtunity knocks at his door in the form of his grand father (K.Vishwanath) who is in India. Chandu goes to India hoping for a share in the proper. He acts in front of the family as if he cares for them. During this journey, he meets Sandhya (Nayantara) who is a doctor at Make a wish foundation. Rest of the story is all about if Chandu succeeds in getting his share and the changes India tour brings in him.

Performances:

Nagarjuna’s all efforts for his new styling and physique is clearly visible on screen. He looked concinving as a playboy even at the age of 53. In the emotional scenes, he delivers a composed performance. Surprisingly, he puts lot of efforts in dances after a long time. Nayantara looked very aged some how. Her costumes and makeup even ma her look older. Meera Chopra made a comeback to Telugu after a long time and gets a little role. She is okay.

Brahmanandham (especially in the second half) is good as always and shouldered the responsibility of second half. Thagubothu Ramesh managed some good laughs. K.Vishwanth, Ashish Vidyardhi and Kota Srinivasa Rao is at their usual self. Rest of them are okay.

Technical Departments:

Dasaradh is one director who always banks on evoking emotion in audience using family sentiment. This story has an uncanny resemblance to his earlier movie, Santoshanm with Nagarjuna. Predictability is too high in the story which hampers audience from getting connected to the movie.. The screenplay of the movie is very weak and he is not able to capture required performances from the cast.

Unlike the usual Thaman album, the songs are high on melody. The rerecording is average . Back ground score could have been a lot better. Cinematographer Anil Bandari’s camera work is average and the CG and DI work is very very poor. Editing is too bad.

Final Verdict:

The first half of the movie is okay and the second half is high on sentiment. Brahmi’s comedy in the second half is a saving grace but will is still under used. The movie is targeted more on family audience and it goes well with them unless they expect another Santosham. We will have to see how masses receive it!

Story:

Mafia Don, Nana Bhai (Aditya Pancholi) kills an investigative journalist, Raghu Ram (Naga Babu) and his family for preparing a report ‘Shadow’ on his illegal activities. Raghu Ram’s son , Raja Ram (Venkatesh) survives from the attack and grows up with the help of Nasser. He vows to take revenge on Nana. How he brings down Nana’s mafia to zero forms the core of the story.

Performances:

Venkatesh had donned different get ups in the movie. The bearded look is the look of Shadow which was not conceived well. His normal getup, Raja Ram is good and he looked a lot younger than in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. And the other character, Chanti, a memory loss patient is horrendous.

Tapsee looked glamourous as Madhu Bala but has very little scope for acting. Srikanth gets an insignificant role as Police cop, Pratap and Madhurima plays his wife. MS Narayana as Psycho Srinivas, a Post Mortem specialist and JP as Home minister managed few laughs here and there. There are several other notable stars like  Suman, Nasser, Shiyaji Shinde, Vennela Kishore, Thagubothu Ramesh who are not used to their potential,

Technical Performances:

Meher Ramesh seem to be not interested in learning from his past. He never pays attention in controlling the budget and even with the help of experience writers like Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan, the movie story is absolutely trash. You got to see the same revenge formula from several years and it is the same with some costly treatment added. Screenplay is totally senseless.

Thaman’s music album is par below average. The title song of the movie is decently picturized and the last song, Naughty girl on Tapsee is good. The back ground score is good as well.Prasad Murella’s camera work is okay. The grading work is good. He seem to have concentrated on arial shots in Malaysia which are totally waste. The editing work by a senior like Marthand K. Venkatesh is totally inexcusable and ridiculous. Action sequences are well composed.

Final Say:

Despite the best efforts of Victory Venkatesh at ripe age and producer’s full freedom, Meher Ramesh delivers a substandard product. Its high time he realizes that story is the hero of any movie other than concentrating on foreign schedule, chopper shots and calling it stylish picturization. Finally, Shadow is a forgettable movie for Venkatesh and his fans. Do watch it only if you are destined to waste your precious time.

Gunde Jaari Gallanthayindhe Story

Karthik (Nithin) a self confident, handsome, cool looking, youngster fall in love with a girl Shruthi (Isha Talwar) at first looks during his friend Pandu’s (Ali) wedding. Some how, he gets her mobile number from Pandu and gradually come into close contact with her. But, he connects to Shravani (Nitya Menon) instead of Shruthi due to a small mistake in noting down the phone number from his friend. Shravani is a well to do girl. Her fantasy is to fall in love with a guy, who really cares for her and not her money. Hence, she also positively responds to him and they fall in love even before they meet in person.

What happens when he meets her and find she is not the one whom he loved? How she reacts when she understood his mistaken love with her forms interesting part of the film.

Connecting to a wrong number is really a very small point to take risk for making a film, but it has been developed into a wonderful romantic film by the writer and director.

performances :– 

The way they Nithin and Nitya excel with their characters enhances the rich look of the film. Both of they have again proved that they are the best and perfect combination for romantic movies. Hence, we can hope many such movies from them in the days to come. While, Nithin gave his best with his unique body language, performance and style, Nitya Menon gives her best with her graceful looks and facial expressions. The chemistry between them is excellent, romantic scenes are heart touching. Their ease in dance and performance is outstanding. But, Isha Talwar needs to be groomed a lot. Ali has proved that, given him a chance can deliver much more than the expectations, with this film.

Nithin’s obsession for Power star Pawan Kalyan brings the audiences a decent remix song-Emayindhi Eevela from his Toli Prema film. To be frank, this remix song has virtually brings the fragrance of the original song. The Graphic work in this song is another highlight of the film. However, the campaign about Jwala Gutta’s item in the film is proved be very wrong as she plays the spoilsport with her uneasy performance, while the rest gave their best in the same song. She did nothing except showcasing her well built thighs and curves in the song.

Final Say:

The first half of the film is very gripping comparatively to the later part. However, the clever screen play by the director Vijay Kumar never lets you down through out the film. Harshavardhan’s dialogues are also very nice. Music by Anup Rubens and the excellent camera work by Andrew has virtually elevated the romantic mood of the movie. Editing is very crisp. Over all it is an excellent outcome of an excellent team. Director Vijay Kumar has proved his mettle with his very first film and definitely he is having a promising career ahead.

What is Gouravam about?

Gouravam is the story of a rich kid, Arjun (Sirish) who comes to a village to meet his Engineering friend, Shankar. He comes to know that Shankar fell in love with Rajeshwari, a girl from the upper caste of the same village. Both of them run away and no body are aware of their whereabouts. Moved by the plight of Shankar’s father (LB Sri Ram) and the village due to Casteism, Arjun and his friends start a movement against casteism and to bring Shankar and Rajeshwari back to the village. What happens in the process forms the reminder of the story.

Performances:

Let me put it straight, Allu Sirish is no hero material. Even if he is, his preparation to this movie is totally inadequate. His expressions, dialogue delivery, dances, fights.. what not every thing are par below pass mark. Yami Gautam is good looking but has a very limited role. For an actor of his stature, Prakash Raj is totally under used.LB Sri Ram and Brahmaji are okay. Rest of them have very limited roles to mention.

Technical Performances:

My deepest respects to Radha Mohan for choosing such sensitive subject. But as a film maker, he did not justice to his role. There is no proper screenplay or characterization. There are several loose ends. He failed to depict the enemity between two groups and the hero gang’s conviction in solving the problem. The movie revolved more around an eloping story than a serious issue like Casteism.

Thaman scored full marks for his superb music and excellent back ground score. Cinematography by Preetha is okay. He had to concentrate more on the long shots to cover up expressions of the hero. Editing by Alen could have been a lot better.

Final Say:

Poor screenplay, improper characterizations combined with very bad performance by Sirish makes Gouravam a very bad film to watch. Except for the honest intent to make a movie on a sensitive issue, Sirish or Radha Mohan does not give us more chance to appreciate. Try it at your own risk!

Story:

Ranjan (Mukesh Rushi) is a trusted lieutenant of mafia don, Saadhu Bhai (Kelly Dorjee). Ranjan operated a profitable casino in Macau and his son, Baadshah (NTR) enters in to a tangle with Saadhu Bhai. With the help of rival Dons Crazy Robert (Ashish Vidyardhi) and Violent Victor (Pradeep Rawat), Saadhu tries to eliminate Baadshah and his family. On the other side, Baadshah with the help of Janaki (Kajal) and her father Jai Krishna Simha (Nasser), a police commissioner tries to counter the evil plans of Saadhu. As the story unfolds, interesting things are revealed. What are they? How they change the course of the movie is the rest of the story.

How they performed?

NTR is literally flawless in the movie. His styling, dialogue delivery and emotions are all impeccable. He had done a wonderful job with his comedy timing. Dances especially in Sairo Sairo and Rangoli songs are too good. Kajal plays the role of Janaki who is a interior designer in Milan. After a long time, she had got a good role. The comedy she emotes with the Banthi Philosophy is too good.

Brahmanandam is hilarious as Inspector Padmanabha Simha. His comedy track in the major asset of the movie. M.S. Narayana once again gets a superb role as film director Revenge Nageswara Rao with some resemlance to Ram Gopal Varma. Vennela Kishore also contributed his part in the first half. Navdeep has done well as an evil cop. Hero Siddharth has a very small but very crucial role in the film. Nasser, Ashish Vidyardhi, Pragathi are good. Jayaprakash Reddy, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Master Bharath, Chandra Mohan and Thagubothu Ramesh are wasted in not so important roles.

Technical Performances:

As every time, Srinu Vaitla banked on his strength i.e., comedy. The story is just like old wine in a new bottle. You can even relate several scenes to Vaitla’s earlier movie. But he did the trick with excellent characterizations. As every movie of his Brahmi and MS Narayana played a crucial role in the movie. He cleverly added the Justice Chowdary and NTR’s song medley episodes to enthrall Nandamuri audience which will work wonders with them.

One liner dialogues and Screen play from writer duo – Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan worked big time. All the songs composed by Thaman are chart busters and are well shot too. His BGM work also deserves the applause. MR Verma’s scissors should have been more sharper especially in the first half. AS Prakash art work is good and the production values are superb.

Final Say:

Baadshah has many similarities to Srinu Vaitla’s early movies but still he manages to keep the audience engrossed with some good comedy tracks. The first half of the movie is good with some excellent performance by MS Narayana supported by NTR and Kajal. The movie slowed down a bit towards the interval bang. The second half of the movie is a total laughing riot with all the comedians unleashed. Go for it!

What is Gola Seenu Story:

Seenu (Sri), Achchi Raju (Raghu babu) and Buchchi Raju (Suman Sheety) are petty thieves and their other and only interest is just enjoying the life. Seenu falls in love at first sight with Sandhya (Tashu Koushik). But, when he came to know that she is a daughter of rich business man Rajashekar (Raj Kandukuri) then the thieves in them pop-up and they kidnaps Sandhya to demand ransom from her father. However, there is an interesting twist comes about Sandhya’s identity. Rest of the story forms how the trio tackles did with her and father.

Director Raj Kandukuri, who played as Sandhya’s father in this movie gave his best in both his jobs. He has put lots of effort to entertain all the way to keep the audiences stick to the chairs. Especially, he is successful in maintaining steady pace with comedy scenes through out the film without letting the audiences feel bore. Since, it is a story related to thieves obviously it brings in police too. Hence, if the subject is perfectly treated by the director, then there is ample scope of comedy and Raj Kandukuri is successful in it. He has very nicely handles the interval twist. The musical chairs scenes in the 2nd half is an added attraction to the film. The flash back episode of the old age home is really very touching. However, if director could handle the story efficiently, it would have brought laurels to him. Director has good stuff in him but need to be polished a bit.

Film Gola Seenu is a comedy entertainer. Sri and Tashu Kaushik have played the lead roles in this movie. Raghu babu and Suman Shetty have played key roles in this movie.

Performances: The lead pair did a good job. Raghu babu, Jeeva, Kota Srinivasarao and Sunil Shetty are upto their mark, but Sunil Shetty has shrug off his regular style and try different.

Story:

J Falguda alias Jaffa (Brahmanandam) is a software guy immersed in all sorts of professional troubles due to his sadistic boss, Melkote. Then enters Jaffa’s assistant Sujith (Dhanraj). Due to Sujith, Jaffa lands in a big trouble and finds himself locked in a prison on the charge of a murder. In prison, he wins many hearts there including the jailer , Nikki (Vennela Kishore). Jaffa often tries to escape from there and what happens next forms the rest.

Performance:

Despite having no star, the movie managed to open very well on day one, that itself is an indication of Brahmi’s box office potential. He tried his best to carry the movie on his shoulders. But appears like sliding into over action mode.

Vennela Kishore is good as jailer. Melkote was okay. Ali is clueless as investigating officer due to poor characterization. There are many comedians in the movie like Dhan Raj, Venu, Venu Madhav, Raghu Babu, Fish Venkat who are all underused by the director.

Technical Performance:

Vennela Kishore even though putting up good show as an actor, failed to deliver good output. Quite understandable! Because he himself failed utterly as a writer and director. With two failures in bag on a trot, by now Kishore should have known that direction is a different ball game altogether. The direction in the movie is obsolete and the screenplay is totally missing.

Anup Rubens’ back ground score is average. Cinematography by Raja looked below average and usage of 5D cannon had backfired completely here. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao editing is very substandard. Production values are very poor with most of the film shot in Brahmanandam’s house.

Final Say:

Initial scenes itself gives you a clear picture about what to expect in the next 2 hours. Main plot of the film is very weak and poorly written. None of the so called twists worked out. Even with a crowd puller like Brahmi, the movie is expected to fall flat at the box office!

Story:

Surya (Nikhil), a petty pickpocketer, Durga (Ravi Babu), a baddie and Swathi (Colours Swathi), a simple journalist are three different people who are totally unrelated. A small golden Ganesh idol goes missing from the secret chambers of Anantha Padmanabha Swamy of Thiruvananthapuram and is worth crores due to its antic value. That idol intervenes the lives of these people and bring some drastic changes in them. What happens next should be seen on screen.

How they performed?:
Nikhil had turned monotonous after a promising debut with Happy Days. He seem to be mimicking the body language and dialogue delivery in all the movies that followed. But it is all different in this movie. He had undergone a good transformation both in looks and acting. This is undoubtedly his best performance after Happy days.

Colours Swathi’s styling looks fresh and her acting is natural. The director had extracted exactly the level of acting demanded by the character with out going overboard. Ravi Babu played the role of a villain with comedy touch and he is too good in it. Love Failure fame Pooja as hero’s friend, Jeeva as Antics Expert are all good.

Technical Performances:
The movie plot loosely resembled Ram Gopal Varma’s Kshanam Kshanam and Anaganaga o roju. The debutante Sudhir Varma’s style also have few references for RGV, Quentine Tarantino. Being a new comer and handling a small movie, he always have the restrictions in budget and all. Sudhir showed the entire industry how a movie can be effectively made even with limited resources by having a good pool of talent. He had done good justice to direction, screenplay, dialogues which all complimented the movie story well.
Debutant Sunny had delivered fresh music for the movie which complimented in enhancing the effect of the scenes. All the songs come in back ground and does not require any lip sync. Richard Prasad, the cinematographer of the movie is new as well and his camera work is bright and colourful. Editing by Karthik Srinivas is very good. Art work is good. Production values are very high for a small movies.

Final Say:
The first half of the movie even though not racy is enjoyable. The director lost his ground in the second half where things get wayward testing the patience of the audience. But the climax is good. The movie is still a decent watch. Give it a try this weekend!

Story:

The story is set in the backdrop of Vishakapatnam. Alex Pandian (Karthi) is hired by a couple of baddies to kidnap the daughter (Anushka) of Health Minister of Andhra Pradesh who refuses to sign a deal. Alex kidnaps her for 10 Lakh contract and later while moving with her changes himself. Rest of the story is how he helps the damsel in distress from trouble.

How they performed?

It is never easy for some one to act as a mass hero and impress audience. And it is very difficult when it comes to an actor who is famous for his soft roles, it gets even tougher. Karthi had tried his level best but the performance is not up to the mark. He had put in considerably effort in dances and also performed stunts with out body double which are commendable.

Anushka was totally wasted and was portrayed as a mere damsel in distress. Santhanam is good in parts and most of his scenes are badly etched. Renuka as Santhanam’s mom and Sanusha, Nikitha Thukral as Santhanam’s sisters are good. Rest of them are okay.

Technical Performances:

Director Suraj is usually known for his comedy movies. He tried to blend comedy and mass in the movie. The first half is Santhanam’s matter all the way and second half is filled with action part but he missed the trick in both. The story itself resembles the movies of 1980s and gets predictable aided by very poor narration and screenplay.

Devi Sri Prasad’s music is good but all the songs are misplaced. Sarvanan’s photography is excellent especially, the train action sequence! Editing by Praveen-KL Srikanth is very bad. After the movie was dubbed in to Telugu, the movie was cut down by 20 minutes which can not change the fate of the movie.

Final Say:

Karthi’s last outing ‘Shakuni’ is very disappointing and now dubbing a disastrous movie like Alex Pandian in to Telugu and giving it a big release will only deplete Karthi’s market here and dilute the good name he possess here.

A mass entertainer is not the one which contains a pack of action scenes and punch dialogues. Bad Boy is really badly made mass masala. You can safely give it a miss unless you want to make your life miserable this weekend.
