PK (Peekay) Movie Review
After directing some of the finest Hindi films like Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and 3 Idiots, Rajkumar Hirani has once again teamed up with Mr.Perfectionist (Aamir Khan) for PK/Peekay.
An alien enters into our world to research and know about everything in our world. As soon as the alien enters on to the earth, it looses its remote control without which it cannot contact back to their world. Alien starts on a mission to find that remote control and throughout the journey, this alien will make understand the people about the real meaning of god.
A common audience will expect nothing less than extraordinary concept from ‘PK’ as Aamir Khan is the hero and Raju Hirani is the director. Well, the director has succeeded once again on selecting an intriguing script. Aamir Khan adds more value to the character of PK with his funny and natural mannerisms. ‘Mind-Blowing’ is the word that we want to use for the first half of the film. The entire episode where PK tells his story to Jagat Janani (Anushka Sharma) was shot brilliantly and convincingly too.
However, in spite of a flawless first half, PK slows down completely right from the beginning of the second half. All the positive points in the first half became negative for the film. Dragged narration predictable scenes have left us yawning.
I have a suggestion for all the awards in India. Aamir Khan should get each and every award in best actor category, for his fantastic performance. Without any exaggeration, this is one of the best performances in Aamir Khan’s career. Anushka Sharma was fabulous and she delivered her best. Sushant Singh Rajput’s role was limited and he did his job. Unlike in his other films, Raju Hirani didn’t use Boman Irani much in this films. Sanjay Dutt’s extended cameo role and Ranbir Kapoor’s cameo role was good.
CK Muraleedharan’s cinematography is of top notch. Raju Hirani’s previous films had super hit music and the songs in this film are just ok. Rajkumar Hiran proved his mettle once again in the first half of PK, but he lost it completely and the 2nf half was a big let down.
Final Verdict: Raju Hirani failed to recreate his magic in PK, but Aamir Khan’s mind-blowing performance made the film a one-time watch.
