• 7 years jail term to Babu Attackers

    After a lengthy trail of nearly a decade, finally the Tirupati Judicial Court in has given 7 years jail term to Nagarjuna and Ramaswamy, who participated in the attack on the then Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at Alipiri on October 1st in year 2003. Fourth additional judge Eeswarao announcing his judgment has  released another accused Sagar alias Pandu Ranga Rao and Gangi Reddy due to lack of proper evidence.

    Although, it is said to an Maoist attack, Sagar Rao alone in the whole troop is belongs to Maoists. All others including the sentenced are said to be common people who joined hands in this operation. Out of 33 who were charge sheeted in this case, only 5 persons have been traced out. One of the five accused died during the lengthy trial of the case. Two were given sentence and the other two were ordered to release.
