While, the media and the Congress party remain silent over BJP president Nitin Gadkari’s Purti Power Project scandal, former minister and senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha worries the party leaders demanding Gadkari to step-down. Speaking to media Yashwant after the parliamentary meeting held at New Delhi on Tuesday he said “I believe Gadkari is involved in this scandal. Hence owing the moral responsibility he should step-down immediately. Whether he is guilty or not is not important now. But, a person facing such serious allegations is not entitled to lead the party. A person with clean image and good reputation only is eligible to sit in that chair.”
As expected his remarks against the party president drew the attention of party leaders. It is learnt that they have warned Yashwant Sinha not to go public with such statements. BJP decides to stand in support of its president Gadkari.
