Telangana’s IT Minister K T Rama Rao was at Googleplex recently trying to convince the Google Team that is looking out for a new place to house its next big campus outside US. KTR was able to convince the company by providing 7.3 acres in Gachibowli and this will incidentally be Google’s first own campus in India. The company confirmed that it is committed to invest more than 1000 crores in setting up its first biggest campus outside the US.
KTR was clearly thrilled that he beat the other silicon havens of India and tweeted about the victory soon after his meeting concluded. This move will not only see 6500 odd jobs getting offered but also reinstate the confidence of other companies in Hyderabad that had recently seen a lot of companies moving away or being wooed.
